BLICKMETRIC

Concept for a software for
the individual creation and
adjustment of glasses.

INTRODUCTION

The range of visual aids is very wide. The most widespread product solution for the protection and visual correction of the eyes is glasses. The personal choice of frame and lens is very individual and is difficult for many people.

The interplay between the lens, the frame and the anthropometric requirements can become a challenge for opticians, especially in the case of severe ametropia. This can lead to many compromises that can affect comfort.

REALIZATION

A concept for software was created and a user interface designed so that the application of this technology can be made possible for the optician.

The project examined how three-dimensional visualization can minimize sources of problems in the selection and manufacturing process of the glasses using digital aids. 3D scanning technology enables an accurate, three-dimensional head model to be created and data to be collected. In order to adapt the glasses, a frame was digitally designed, which can be adapted to the digital head model by changing parameters.
